why do people get so obsessed with things like graphics memory?
I dont think these cards are designed for gaming rigs. Old investment bank computers used to run multiple screens on 2meg cards. My Radeon as 64mb and is fine for my PC and most CAD grpahics cards don't have as much ram as gaming cards - why? they dont need it. The money is spent where it is needed not on ego boosting ram.
i need the power due to gaming etc video editing hense dual screen
if you want a gaming Pc then i would not use these cards.
sure you could put 1gb of ram on there but these are running on the PCI or GP bus so it would be waste of money. The fact they make PCI multidisplay cards says to me that these are designed for business users who need to see many screens or to display video on a screen array. This does not need gaming power. If you are playing an intensive game then any more than 3 screens and you are reaching information overload of your own brain. Hence why current aircraft cockpit design is reducing the number of dials, displays, indicators etc and getting it down to a couple of screens with menus and the computer highlights any problems and brings them to the pilots attention.
The 4 channel card is for the PCI/E port which is faster then agp 8x. Would be nice to have 4 screens in your car with different programs on it. Maybe 4 front ends on one pc Although that would really task the CPU trying to run 4 things at once.
Anyone ever try to run a pc with several terminals in their car? Network based? We have some at my work that have a monitor keboard mouse connection and there real small.
Um, I guess this is where you put something witty.WITTY
