  • Opinions on Asus Mobo & AMD Athlon 64 CPU

Okay, I recently received a Epox EP-8RDA+ motherboard, AMD Athlon CPU, 1GB Corsair RAM, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro video card, 1 Seagate 120GB hard drive and a 10GB Maxtor hard drive along with some fans and a dvd burner. Oh, and I have a Antec case with a 460-watt PSU.

Well, some of you may recall the problem I had with the Epox board. I am just going to buy a brand new board and CPU.

I was thinking of the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe board matched with the AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1GHz CPU from newegg. Here are the links....

Any opinions on this pair of hardware?

That motherboard is one of the best Socket 939 boards you can get.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

Man, I just realized that this board doesn't have the AGP slot(s). So, I can't use my 9700 Pro board.

So, what do you guys think about this one, ASUS A8V Deluxe?

^ I have no idea. The Epox board keeps stalling out on POST Codes. Epox tells me it's from the video card (POST Code 68 and 6A). However, the video card works because I swapped it to my other PC and it works fine. I even used my older PCI card and the same problem.

I have reinstalled everything time and time again and it doesn't work. I'm not sure what else the problem could be. So, I want to get another mobo, CPU.
