  • Slot Load DVD -> USB Problem

I switched my setup from a DC-DC PSU to an Inverter-mATX AC-DC PSU.

I have a kill switch in my dash for the inverter and whenever I turn the inverter off and back on to fire up the computer it does not see my Slot load DVD drive. I have to wait for windows to boot and unplug and replug in the USB cable to the DVD drive for it to be recognized by Windows. If I restart or turn off the computer and turn it back on without turning the inverter off it still sees the DVD drive. Only when the inverter is turned off and on it does this.

Is there something I can do in Windows to to disable the USB root hub and re-enable it so re-detect USB devices after start up to avoid the pain of disconnecting and re-connecting the USB cable everytime I want to use my DVD drive?

Honestly, I would suggest either updating the firmware or simply leaving your power inverter on if it is dependent on your ACC line turning it on and off. It seems like USB drives are real sensitive sometimes and there may possibly be no workaround to this. I would say, start with firmware and work your way up from there.
