  • Akimbo car pc ? $70...

Just looked at the Akimbo site and was shocked by their offer.
70 bucks for a full featured PC. 733 Celeron. 80Gb hard drive.
Will see if there is XP or Linux drivers for that. No VGA though
    Would be cool huh ?

Have to admit I haven't read the terms on the page but my guess is you have to subscribe to the service in order to get that thing, if you cancel the subscription you have to send it back, am I right guys?

Here is the link to a spec:
                          http://www.edn.com/article/CA6275410.html
                          In short it has:
                          - Celeron 733MHz
                          - 64 MB ram
                          - 80 GB HDD
                          - 5/12V power supply with no more than 5A supply
                          - hardware mpeg support decoding/encoding
                          - ethernet
                          - IR remote control interface
                          - PCI slot
                          - No external fans. Only small one onside.
Of course it is software/hardware locked like xbox. And I'm looking into info about Linux/Xp on it. Will see if that works.

Okey. Here is the deal. It works the same way as Xm service. You cancel it, you cannot use it (sort of). So if anyone can find a way to use it outside the service, it will worth a shot Anyone ?
