  • SV24 only outputs black and white to TFT

I know there has been a lot of discussion about the sv24/fv24 video output but I haven't seen anyone talk about this problem yet. I Have a sv24 with a 733mhz celeron running win2k and I can only get black and white output to my MA Audio 5.6" TFT screen. I have tried plugging the sv24 into other tvs and everything works fine. I have also tried plugging the tft into other tv outputs and everything seems fine there as well, but when I combine them I loose all color. I tried messing around with numerous drivers and options for the sv24 but nothing seems to help.

Anyone know how this can be fixed? thanks in advance!

Perhaps ntsc feeding into a pal screen or pal feeding into an ntsc screen. the chroma encoding standards are different on the two types of video signal, and some screens can't deal with it.

I have no idea if this will solve your problem or not. But, to adjust this setting you need to have the video drivers installed for your bios and OS. Mohabib suggests you use the stv2 bios to cover the entire screen with no black border. This only works in 800x600 though. Once you have the right bios and video drivers for your os. The ntsc pal option is under the advanced display menu on the S3 displays tab. I have never had or heard of this problem before.

When I select PAL output from the sv24 the picture on the tft rolls really fast like the tracking is way off on a vcr. The tft says it has pal/ntsc autoswitching. Maybe its not switching correctly or something? Maybe it has something to do with the signal strength.. hmm, I might buy a pci video card with tv out for my sv24 but that would really suck concidering its built on to the damn motherboard. I have a x10 wireless video transmiter maybe that will change the video enough to make it useable by my tft. I will let you guys know if it works or not.

well today I hooked up my wireless video transmitters and it didn't change a damn thing. I trasmitted the video from a Xbox to the TFT and everything worked fine (in color!), then I transmitted the signal from the sv24 to a tv everything worked fine, but when I send the video from the sv24 to the tft I only get black and white... Wow this is really annoying. I'm sure its a simple problem.. anyone have any ideas?
