  • s3 virge gx2 tv out

Hey people i just bought a old 2 mb s3 virge gx2 pci video card with tv out. The problem is that this is my first tv out card i have ever had and i can get widows to detect it, but in the display settings it dosnt have nothing about tv out suport and how to switch it over etc etc. I have looked all over the net for drivers but all i can get is normal drives not ones that have the option to change the settings to view the pc screen on your tv. The thing i need to know is can i just get another program to do this plus does anyone have a copy of the original drivers for this card or used this card before.
    Thanks

On some of the old cards like that, there is actually a jumper on the card to enable TV out. You may want to take a peek at the card itself to see if that is the case.

Got the tv out to work just by removing the normal 9 pin monitor cable and pluging in the rca style cable and it worked. Only problem is that on my lcd and tv the screen the computer screen only takes up like 85% of the screen if you know what i mean. Is there anyway of fixing this. Plus in media player like when i full screen a movie it will only go like 70% of the screen and like a black line will go for all movies at the top of the screen.

so your saying thats a problem with the video card, not the LCD since you say you have the same problem with your TV setand the TFT? Can you change the output from PAL/NTSC? maybe worth a shot?

Also maybe you have some software options like stretching the display/etc..... recentering options? Im sure there will be something under wiindows display settings...

There is nothing wrong with the lcd i used it last night again. The quality aint the best and colours but for the price it looks ok and does the job. I have looked all over the net but i cant find any drivers which have options to like change the tv options etc etc.
The only problem i have is that in media player it wiont play the movies like full screen there is always a big black line at the top of the screen but its is ok at the botom.
