Yes it is possible. Basically you will need 4 video cards if you are wanting video, each with an output. Then use windows Extended Desktop onto it. The problem you will have is that windows doesn't like to play video on dual monitors let alone 4. If you have 2 monitors, it turns one half black, the other has video. There is an option to not let that happen but I forget what it it. Under Display Properties' advanced tab I believe.

Oh, and for that, you better have a fast setup!

Or get something like a PNY Quadro, there's one that has four outputs built into one PCI Xpress card.

Surely 2x dual-head graphics cards would be cheaper?

guys each DVI port has 2 channels, which you can split. so you would need 1 video card with 2 DVI outputs, and 2 DVI splitters.

just get an agp dual head and a pci dueal head. or get a matrox triple head and a PCI.

there are those 4 outputs ones as mentioned but they are expensive and may not have the support you need as a regular consumer or support certain features in games, frontends etc you want as they are for graphics applications, CAD etc.

You could even get usb2 grpahics cards but i would go pci and agp.

there is a good multimonitor forum you could look at.

for PCI ignore old S3 and the like cards and go with a more modern one as the old cards dont like being initialised after the AGP (bios setting) and ou have to set the bios to the pci 1st which isnt ideal for windows etc etc.

that depends on the card. some of the matrox yes but not old agp cards with DVI out. they are ust one screen per output on the back.
