  • problem with USB GPS and mouse

Does anyone else have a problem with, or know how to fix a problem I have when inserting a USB GPS receiver into a UMPC? When I insert the USB connector the mouse appears to get a life of it's own and starts moving around the screen and clicking etc

It appears that there is some sort of conflict but I'm not sure where to fix it.

If I plug into a different USB port it auto installs the software and this doesn't happen but if I remove it and then plug it back in again it all goes weird on me again.

Yes. For some reason your system is seeing it as an HID mouse. It's a driver issue of some sort. Try having your Device manager open and expand 'Mice and pointing devices' to see if it incorrectly installs it as a HID Compliant mouse.
