  • First system concept - Need professional advice

Hey, I'm new to this forum but I've been reading it and doing my research for a short while now. I've put together my first CarPC concept that I'm planning on ordering soon and I would like to hear people's opinions on component selection and whether I will run into any problems, anything I might be leaving out (critical stuff, not optional), etc.

    - AOpen i945GTt-VFA board
    - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz T7200
    - M2-ATX (160w) PSU
    - VoomPC Ampie enclosure
    - SO-DIMM 1GB (512MB x 2) DDR2 667 memory
    - Seagate 120GB notebook HD 5200rpm

My main area of concern is power and whether this will be compatible. Can anyone give me some advice/opinions on this setup?

See if you can run a Core 2 Duo Mobile processor. the L2500 at 1.83GHz is more than enough for your CarPC needs. It sips 15W at most compared to a typcial 31W Mobile processor. They even offer ultra low voltage CPUs that sips 9W at 1.2GHz (hard to get). Therefore, look for a low power mobile processor if it works with your board.

I'm running an AMD Turion Mobile with 25W maximum consumption.
