Can you post steps you are doing to get this error so I can reproduce it please.

What the error means is that there is some character like a "<", or a ">" that is being put in your file that is invalid.

Before you save, copy the textual version into a new file and post that please.

alright well i guess that makes sense...

here are the steps i have taken:

          1. open Fusion control cetre uber mdx edition
          2. click on ninja kity wizard of doom
          3. hit next
          4. type 1 for number of fusion brains and hit next
          5. click on button to find fusion brain (mine is one of the original versions) and then click next
          6. type 5 for the number of outputs
          7. hit next again since i dont need to change any of the types to momentary
          8. leave number of inputs 0 and hit next again
          9. click on default template and leave controlling digital outputs selected and hit next
          10. click finish and let it configure the settings
          11. click on save (i was changing a bunch of other settings previously but i realized that i cant get it to work either way and that i am getting the same error message when i try to save no matter how much i change)

Ok, well the only change has been to the Fusion Brain and its version. If you look in the brain instances under io, you see it is {something}. try removing those brackets and saving. to do that edit your rbain instance.

I will try and see whats up when I get back to my computer, currently just on my phone. Let me know if that changes anything.

I have tried to make the same thing happen and I cannot reproduce any of it. Even with the brackets, mine saves just fine and works perfectly.

Replace your configurator exe with this one: http://www.fusioncontrolcentre.com/T...nfigurator.exe

This should give you a second error box after the first one. I need the details from that box since I cannot reproduce it on my end.

Ok try the new link and see what it says: http://www.fusioncontrolcentre.com/T...nfigurator.exe

I cannot see anything wrong with the file. It looks perfectly fine.

If you take the code that wont save, past it into Notepad and save as FusionConfiguration.xml, put it in the MDX directory, will it load and work correctly? (Make sure to make the content folder too so all the images/functions appear as well).

Well i seem to have it working now... i replaced the exe with the new one and i still was getting an error message when trying to change the outputs. Fortunately i am able to save the config file that the wizard creates aslong as i do not do anything with it. So i just opened it in note pad and made the changes in the code to make it do what i want and it worked! The only other problem that i encountered was that if i put an ambersand (&) in the output on a button that controls my dash and door pocket lights the program would tank when i open it and give me an error message asking if i wanted to report to microsoft. So i took the "&" and replaced it with "and" and now it seems to work just fine.

And "&" is a reserved character. You cannot use that in xml files. Hence the error

I did not know that i am not completly familiar with xml. I only know C++ and html... Do you have any ideas why i was getting the error when trying to change the state of the outputs in the configurator before i even touch the graphic properties?
