  • Easiest way to determine if there is a closed circuit

I need to determine if two wires are coming into contact with each other. I'm going to be moving my satellite dish back and forth and I plan on using this method to tell the motors when to stop moving one direction. I'll mount one of the wires to a stationary support of the dish and then the other wire to one of the arms that move. When the two come into contact I'd like to be able to do "x".

What's the easiest way to do this with the brain?

One wire from FB 5V out pin, the other AIN. Create a logic statement when the input goes high, do "x". Better to position a switch instead of running two wires together. Best would be to have arm move a linear resistor. Then you could setup a voltage divider and know where the dish is rather than only when it is at a certain point.

You need a micro switch (weather proof if outside) the moving arm contacts the lever on the micro switch and closes the circuit. Two wires being pushed or touched together will not work reliably.
