    For MDX:

    Inside the "<io></io>" tags, when you declare your output, add the default state option.

    Code:
    ...
    <io>
    ...
        <iochannel id="Amp Turn On" port="0" brain="MainBrain" type="digital_output">
            <defaults defaultstate="on"></defaults>
        </iochannel>
    ...
    </io>

        You seem to be under the impression that the software is different for a Version 3 board then for a Version 4 board. This is completely incorrect. The software doesn't care which version you have once you change the one character in the brain instance from "3" to "4".

        i.e.

        Code:
              <brain id="My V4 Brain" version="4">brain id 0</brain>
              <brain id="My V3 Brain" version="3">brain id 1</brain>
        That makes 2 brain instances, 1 that is version 3 and 1 is version 4. That's it.

        The rest is exactly the same.

        HW wise, attach the output to a relay the relay to the amp remote lead.

          what type of relay to use? any one have a diagram of this type of hook up? Do I need to plug any values into the software?

            Any 12v relay that takes less than 400mA to turn on. We sell relays in our store too that are prewired for the Fusion Brain.

            Well the above code is the bare minimum. It makes the output turn on at the beginning. That's it. If you want manual control, then you can make a button to control it too. The possibilities are endless, this is just the tip of the minimalistic iceberg.

              so I dont need to program if I just want the v3 to turn on the amp? Just the hook the relay to the digital output of the v3? Another question,if you have the FB hook up to the 12v, the blue light is on. Even after the carputer is off it still on. Will this drain the battery? Or should it be hooked up to the acc wire to power?

                need vs. want is entirely up to you. This thread provided the bare minimum to get it working. Anything else is optional.

                Anything wired to a constant source will drain the battery given enough time. You can wire it to any 12v source you want that supplies enough power. Again options are endless.

                    Is there a way to link the turn on to after the sound drivers are loaded or will this automatically happen if MDX is placed in the startup folder?

                      It will automatically happen. When Windows starts applications, it is already "logged in". The sound drivers get initialized on the welcome screen, and that's why you hear the login sound.

                        So is there a particular way to have MDX start up on boot or just put it in the start up folder?
