  • PCI Riser Card question

    I have this case:

It comes with a 2 slot pci riser card. And lots of jumpers... Given I am a simpleton, I have left the jumpers at the defaults.

My issue is that I haven't ever been able to get two cards working at the same time. In fact, I don't recall ever getting anything in the bottom slot to work. So my question is, is it bad hardware or bad configuration? The documentation is of little help -- and searching for "pci riser card" on mp3car didn't reveal anything helpful (for this problem).

    Thanks in advance,

I have the same case, and I guess the same PCI riser - I had some problems to start with, but got it working eventually by playing around with the dip switches which I think change depending on what motherboard you have. Since it was over a year ago since doing this I can't remember how I figured out how I worked it out sorry.

What motherboard do you have? Is there anything in the manuals perhaps?

      Thanks Rowan,

      I am using this motherboard:

Nothing in the munual pertaining to pci riser cards in the motherboard manual and the case *manual* was a 8x11 sheet folded in half with a total of 4 pages worth of instruction....

I checked around Opus's site and did a quick search on google, but I can't find much on the way of how to configure that riser card. I think your best bet would be to either email or call Opus and see if they can help. If they can't, perhaps you could get the manufacturer/model # of the riser card and contact the company that makes that for help.
