  • Finished or In the process of... That is the question?!?!

    Ok guys,

Would you rather see pictures of finished computer system with all the wires hidden, already built and ready to use? Or, pictures of dash all torn apart, wires and cables everywhere with "not finished yet" It seems that people are more wowed by installs with wires and cables everywhere than installs done like the screen and console came from the factory. I for one love to see dashes and consoles molded to fit like it was built by the manufacturer, like Arby's eclipse. Though, I dont see a head unit in his car. Granted that it's hard to mold dashes but the result is amazing.

I would say both kinds of pictures would be best. Some of the installation, and then some of the finished product.
Project AutoBoxen: Coming along, almost ready to hook up in the car.
Celeron 500, 192mb ram, 8gb hdd, other stuff.
'91 Mazda 626: Its free, so ill use it.

I would really love to match it to the dash, it's a 92 s-10 blazer. I color match it...and I have a few ideas how to make it better, but I would love to hear yours too.!!!!

      thanks

What size is your screen? If the screen is not wider than the radio bezel, you can put it where your radio is. You most likely have to relocate the radio, cig lighter ash tray, and hatch release button. Keep the vents at its place cuz its hard to re route AC vents. You should place the monitor as high as possible for safety. briefly looking at the radio is alot safer than looking at the screen at its current location which is on the floor. It would probably take a week to mold the dash working 2-3 hours a day fiberglassing and mounting the monitor.
