  • USB stick+Amp+speakers=Car audio?!!!

    Hi All!

I have an amp at my car and I want to find a device that takes USB memory stick with mp3's and play the songs trough the amp to the speakers.
You will tell me that a simple mp3 player will do the job...
But I don't want mp3 player with fixed memory or sd card.
I want something with USB input.
In this case, I could use my ipod, or an external HDD...

    Any Ideas?!

    Please, DO give me url's.

    Thank you

A lot of pioneer head units do this, I just recently picked up this guy:

    http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...rs/DEH-P6000UB

It will support ipod playback as well as standard mp3s on usb flash memory.

I picked up a Dual Dual XHD6425 headunit from Bestbuy on clearance about a week ago for about $50 that has a USB jack on the front. It also has a RCA input in the back, a minijack input in the front, picks up HD stations and is 200w. I got it for my mother in law and installed it in her car. If you can find one on clearance at your local best buy, its a damn good deal. I have been running a Dual headunit in my car for over a year now with no problems.

The important point of my post, was that it must have only the amp and the speakers. No head units, nothing. Just the usb stick, an amp and the speakers.

If you're implying you want an amp that accepts USB input, I've never heard of such a thing. If you just want it to play straight from the USB stick, how do you intend to change the songs? I think you may be asking for something that doesn't exist.

or something that isnt practical. anything small will probably have a headphone level outs not line level.

is this for use in a car, boat train house?

there are some but they are tiny and probably sound like crap, if its in a car get a JVC, or whatever they do ok stuff with a usb port on the front

              ...Something like this:
              http://cgi.ebay.ie/NEW-VR3-USB-MP3-F...742.m153.l1262
But with line out. NOT FM transmitter...

So you're basically looking for an mp3 player that supports any USB drive as a storage medium. I have a SanDisk Cruzer Micro MP3 Companion which is basically an mp3 player that I plug my usb drive into as its memory. I never tried using a different drive, and it no longer works so I can't test it, but it sounds like that's what you're looking for, or something similar.

Let us know what you come up with!

Edit: This guy seems to be looking for the same thing - There's mention of a Lexar product that might do it - didn't see it on the site tho. http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/USB_2...20mp3_20player

CarPC v2.5 up and running - all hardware installed, skin configured, and iG tweaked like crazy. Now for OBD-II, and voice control, and camera plugin, and... :nutz: - it never ends!

Yes cMags. Something like this, but for in car use.
Imagine a panel or just a female Usb input, where you can plug a USB stick and listen to music.
USB stick is something extremely portable. I usualy carry 3 or 4 of them. I usualy forget at home the head unit's face plate, and allways afraid to forget it on board...
