  • TV in car?

Im wondering if I should get an ATI all-in-wonder card for the car pc. I've read that reception is horrible while driving then again I'm interested in this card since it comes with an RF remote.

Or should I forget about it completly and just use my irman with girder and get a decent card that has dvd / mpeg decoding.

Any suggestions, opinions and/or experiences welcomed.

    Thanx

    why do either?

Any decent video card with a half decent CPU nowadays can handle DVD video, so you don't need to get a special card for this task.

TV reception is crappy while driving within cities, not so bad on the open highway. But why are you concerned about that to begin with, planning on watching TV while driving?

i love having my tv in my car.. I don't watch it while driving put it comes in handy at tailgating before the giants game and afterwards waiting to get out of the parking lot.

If you like the ATi remote so much, get the ATi Remote Wonder.

It's just the RF Remote and USB dongle with mini antenna.

I was considering the remote cost and the video card cost. If getting those two seperate got me around the price of the AIW then i would just get the AIW.

I'm familiar with the remote, I happen to have one .

          Thanx guys for the replies.

Does anyone else have any suggestions

          Greatly appreciated

Hey Mito, how does the remote work for you? I have a laptop with an ATi card, as well as a TV Tuner module (that came with a remote). The included remote is limited, and I'd be interested in a better one.

I love it since you dont need to have direct line sight.

If you have latest version of the drivers you can control winamp 2.x and powerpoint.

So if you use ATI's suite you can basically use your remote to run dvds, divx, and winamp.

I know there is a software developers kit for plugins. So if you are familiar with coding you can customize it.
