    Hello all,

    Yes. I could really use some assistance.

    Mods: There really wasn't a more appropiate forum for this subject matter, move accordingly. Thanks.

    This part: MOSFET N-CH 200V 35MA SOT78 - PSMN070-200P - Discrete Semiconductor Products broke on my TV and as a result the TV goes into protect mode immediately. I rigged up the broke part and with a hack was able to mend it long enough to get the TV to start working again to confirn this is indeed the problem. WooHoo!

    The problem is, I cannot find just 1 of these to buy. I've searched high & low on Google to no avail. DigiKey U.S. directs me to DigiKey Canada whereby I have to buy it in bulk as a non-stocked part. Sigh.

    This post is to hopefully reach someone in the industry to assist me who may be able to source this part for me due to their knowledge, experience and contacts.

    You might have to use a different package and alternate part.

      Wow! Thanks. Didn't see these. Will check them out.

      The one I found was rated for 200w original is 250w.

      The first of your two links are for 160w. The second seems to be rated for 400w, which I think may work best, let me take a closer look at the data sheets.

        It's usally easier if you know the power requirements or can measure the volts and amps running through it. There way too many parameters when searching for those.

        Another way to get an original part is by going to the site and looking for samples.

        This one sends you to Arrow electronics, who is out of stock, but sells in singles. What a pain! They also have a similar part link there, but I didn't see anything that popped out. The 200V rating makes it unique.

          I'd assume its 35A and not 35mA!

          Try electronic-repair-kits.com/.
          I got my Sony HOT transistors from them - 5 for AUD$35 including post to downunder - better than $17 each (since I wasn't sure what had taken out the HOT).

          Usually semiconductors can be substituted - especially FETs - but they can be more specialised for TVs.

          If using low Wattage substitutes, improved heatsinking may help.
