Could this be an option to keep carpcs cool (and fanless)?

(At least it is proven to work)

Well you could use it. The case should be leakproof and you have to place it somewhere secure. In case of a crash....be aware of a huge mess....

I know I would not use it....

I will keep the pc really cool.

If i remember from a previous oil computer I saw the oil started getting hot to where they had to cool the oil for the computer to remain stable and it was an old pc, not a new one or anything.

I saw a setup like that that used Mineral Oil.
The problem is cooling the oil... You could use an old window air conditioner, but that's more noisy than the computer! I'd say, only use it during winter, and run a small pump to circulate it outside!

Pain in the arse to change them CMOS batteries, though!

The mineral oil worked, but condensation was an issue.
He scrapped the project for that very reason.

That and it's a bit of a pain to transport a big tank of mineral oil to LAN parties!
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

i see the CPU fan is still plugged into the MoBo, i wonder how ling it will last? even mineral oil is pretty thick for a little fan to push around....
BTW, i love the aquarium stick on thermomitor, who needs sensore and probes

technically if you have pure water it wont conduct electricity either.

                            Do a search on Flourinert

It is a 3m liquid used for cooling super computers. It is temperature stable, non-conductive and non-corrosive.

I've been giving some thought to using the same type of water cooling the gamers use. It is bunch of heat sinks that have water cooling jackets around them.

yeah. they demonstrated this stuff on the screensavers way back when techtv was still on its own and doing well. (for those who have no clue, this has been 2 or 3 years)
