Yeah, put the password on, download TweakUI (google it, it'll be the first link or two) and have it auto log you on with your password..

If you have Windows XP, you can run "control userpasswords2". It will allow you to set a password for a user that is logged in automatically when windows starts. Be sure to disable the welcome screen as well.

nm guys... i found a way to do it...

start... run... type in "control userpasswords2"

and uncheck the box that says users must enter a password to log on.

With windows xp, you must have a password in order to utilize the remote desktop feature. If you don't have a password, it won't let you log in remotely.

To prevent anyone else from accessing any shares on the PC without the appropriate password.

There's plenty of $30 USB fingerprint scanners on eBay (or elsewhere) that come with software to log you onto windows (not to ention websites, etc ec... let you save different passwords for different things). I'm going to be putting one in my carpc..

That is awesome, I completely forgot about those things. I heard a blip a long time ago about a usb jump drive where you had to use your fingerprint to access the data. I thought this was a great idea as some of the research I do at my school I dont' want other students to get there hands on. I always back up my data on a server, however, for ease sake I carry around the USB jump drive. I thought it would probably be a good idea at some point to get one of those with the fingerprint access on it to protect my data from thiefs at this school. However, I didn't know they made them just for accessing windows etc, though I haven't research it or anything in a while. But thanks for bringing that up because I am going to look into it now.
