  • Covering door panels and such...

My car has 68,000 miles on it and its falling apart on the interior. Some of the vinyl covered interior door panels are torn and scuffed. I was wondering if any of you ever repaired the interior door panels, or did anything to cover them with a material or fabric? I was thinking of covering mine with an imitation-velvet type of material, but I hear that the stuff is not very durable.

Yeah, you could do what a friend of mine did, by an old Chevette for 100$, and put a new stereo, a supercharger, and crushed velvet interior in it

Chances are you don't have a Mazda MX-3 (not everyone is perfect ), but these may help steer you in the right direction for your car. This guy's page has helped a lot of people in the MX-3 forums.

Hmmm...that was rather helpful. I covered the cloth sections with velvet, but still some of the vinyl is scuffed and torn. Is there any way to fix that? I have tried using the "vinyl repair kit" available at Pep Boys and most car stores, but matching the color is near impossible.
