  • add wire to connector and circuit diagram question

Wire shielding is my guess. Omitting it allows the possibility of interfering signals, but I think you can probably be without it just fine.

You want to add pins or just extend the cut wires? If your going to extend the wires, just get yourself some crimp connecters and extend them. Or solder wires and heat shrink or tape them.

          never tape wires, always heatshrink

tape is unreliable, can lead to shorting, which obviously isnt good

ehh, not so much. I've had plenty of heatshrink end up with holes in it over time. If you actually spend a couple bucks and buy the good electrical tape and apply it properly it works just fine. The key is smooth even tight layers so the tape can properly adhere to itself and the wire and form a bond.

the glue on tape will come off eventually, it always does, then it gums up and its gross

and heatshrink shouldnt get holes in it, unless its rubbing against something, which is never good, and wires should be secured anyway

When I attached my carpc to my stereo system, I just bought extra connectors and stole the pins from them. Do you need more pins? It looks like 12 pins in the pictures above. Did you need more than that?
