  • Crossover software

Aighty guys, we need to find software that will do this.

I know that there's not currently much of a market out there for this, however, if we could find some software that could do this, we would be one step closer.

There are cards out there now that have 5v outputs in 3.5mm form (no biggie just go 3.5 to RCA).

However, we need crossover points to dictate what signals go to what speakers, not just full range signals to all speakers.

So, if anyone has any insight, post it up!

So I've done a bit of searching and I've found this:

I emailed them to just get a bit more information.

If we could get a total solution, with full 1/3 octave eq, x-over, time alignment, a high end audio card, etc.... & everything works great togeather, AND is not a total resource hog that we need a pc just for the processing.... then there will be a viable option to stuff like the alpines etc...

my guess is these setups will cost big $$$ cause this is not stuff geared towards consumers, but geared towards professionals, with profesional pricetags... I remember looking at pro gear & software a while back & it was really expensive, to the point that you could probably buy a h900 with what you'll spend total.... who knows, maybe it's changed since a few years ago though, </sits here hoping>

        RedGTi> I'm using Allocator. Works a treat .

Btw, I'm running an SQ (sound quality) car. So for me, sound quality was of high importance - think 'IASCA winning'.

The benefits from running all processing on the computer are well worth it.

The way I'm approaching it is that I'm willing to spend the same amount of money on this solution as I would be willing to spend on a pure car audio solution. Since I'm willing to purchase the H900 if I can find one used, I'm in the same price point.

Currently I'm looking at the Echo Layla 3G (http://www.echoaudio.com/Products/PCI/Layla3G/specs.php) with the Allocator and I'm not really sure which 1/3 band EQ software...

Iceman - can you share a bit more about your set-up?

A little of topic: Does anyone know how does H900 or H990 software looks like (screenshot)?

It's not software, but if you could get the Behringer DCX2496 to run from 12V, it does a lot of stuff (xover, limiters, time delay, EQ) in one box:

As for software, here's some discussion:

And here's a real example using the Kxproject drivers for the SB Audigy:

Thanks for the link to the Behringer Bass, but I'm strictly speaking about software in this post.

Regarding the link to Driver Haven and to DIY Audio, I've saved both and plan on trying to read both in detail over the next few days. Thanks for'em!!
