  • NEVER be afraid to break your stuff

short version- Event viewer complained about an acpi conflict between XP and the motherboard bios. I cut and pasted a new acpi table along with the cpu microcode table from another motherboards bios with the same chipset but with better compatability and it actually worked! I used cbrom. The first time it didn't work so I hot flashed it back to life on another motherboard, then I tried again but I made sure all the bios modues were in the right order and BAM! it worked!

This all started with learning how to manipulate the boot logo using the tutorial posted elsewhere in this forum.

Easier said than done. I broke my TSV during final installation.

That being said, I'm a little more timid about opening up my crazy expensive transreflective.

Welllllll....... I installed the os and there were some serious irq allocation issues. Oh well, at least I didn't break anything.

The time I spend messing with this thing is a double edged sword. I could spend this time working and make enough money to buy a freakin lexus with all the options, but if I didn't spend time doing this crazy crap I wouldn't have all the knowledge that makes me good money.
