  • australia 2009 search for pc

please does anyone know of any software that has good 2009 maps of australia and queensland mainly... I like using my centrafuse however the maps for au seem to all be 2006... I cannot find any 2009 or 2008 maps anywhere and I really like the layout and intergration so if anyone know where to find destinator maps for au please lemme know.

If I need to use different software I can live with that, I just can't find anything with 09 maps... I have tried searching in all the different forums like australiagps and laptopgps and have had little results in finding anything so far even garmin seem to have discontinued most of their australia map products

I'm not new to google :P I cannot find any of these maps would you be able to post links if possible I admit it is a relief to know it is out there... Garmin looks like the best bet for latest maps so I'll check into them a little more and report back

called up garmin themselves and they couldn't help... All I got was that nRoute was discontinued and that the new software Garmin Moblie PC was no coming out in australia... I asked If i could buy the software overseas and put australia maps on it and was told that it would not work or that they could not get it working and so its not coming out in aus... Then he refered me to a GPS specialist company who told me that laptop navigating never took off in australia and that basically it was virtually imposible to get the latest maps for any of them

It would be great if sombody could get Garmin Mobile PC working in australia

called garmin and yes they offer the maps but no software to work with it :P except the old nRoute which is discontinued yay... garmin mobile pc is not being released in australia and the maps are not compatible

Called a GPS speciallilst and he basically said I was withount a hope and that nobody really had updated maps for australia.

Try googling the forum rules as well. They will tell you that the mention of pirated software is not tolerated here.

Read your first quoted post. If that doesn't infer downloading it off the net, i don't know what does. I am well aware of what you can look for on the net. I am reminding you about the forum rules. If you don't like them, too bad. They are there for a reason. It is my job to enforce them.

Joe dm hi mate my post wasnt directed at you, i was just trying to defend myself.I guess the only use for google is PIRATED software.!!!There are five driving adults in my family,My son has a late model tomtom with 2009 maps,my wife and daughter share a generic gps with destinator with 2008 maps,I am about to get hopefully next couple of weeks a garmin 1309 with 2010 maps,i know a guy who works with me has a chinese all in one with 1go 8.3*** that also has 2008 maps and has been told the update is available shortly.I OWN garmin pc,oziexplorer, oziexplorer ce. I use garmin pc with city navigator 2009 and off road maps on my laptop and RESENT the accusation of condoning software piracy. So basically everyone here, who suggests looking on google is actually saying go pirate,! what the hell have i done on this site to warrant that???

It was the gossip smiley that gave me that impression. I was probably a little short with my reply. If you have bought your software, that's great, but the amount of posts that I see with a nudge nudge wink wink is quite large. I have seen quite a number of programs and skin become defunct because they have been pirated or hacked. Sometimes the interpretation of a post is not taken the same way it is intended. If I took your post the wrong way I appologise. I did give you the benifit of the doubt in your post, otherwise I would have given you an infraction.

My statment was harsh, but what I will not appologise for is enforcing the rules. They are a condition of using this forum. End of story.

I appologize for getting" on my high horse". The smiley was intended to be a facetious suggestion as to where to find the info,in future i will be more selective,Sorry Joe dm for getting us off track. "no smiley"

                            EDIT:

sorry always am half asleep working night shift

Yeah the google links are for GPS units to mount in your car... Basically all of them have the latest maps up for purchase, however what I am looking for is a Software GPS to use with my car computer once I build it as I am in planning mode.

This will basically just be the same as wanting to run a GPS on a laptop using a usb gps reciever and it is laptop software that I am having trouble locating which supports the latest maps.
