  • what com port is my Delorme USB on?

i just got my delorme gps and it works fine and dandy with Street Atlas 2004, but when i try to run MS streets and Trip, the program cant find the GPS. I know this is USB, but the software only looks in my com ports. How do i trick the software into looking at my usb ports?

And yes, i did install the drivers that came with the delorme CD.

Right Click My Computer and Click Manage. Go to Device Manager Then Click on Ports. When you installed the gps it should have set it to a Com Port.

I think it depends on which USB port you plug it into. On my PC, it shows up on COM 4.

If I remember correctly, there is a download from delorme to use USB to serial. Try that first. It may be included with SA2004, but for my SA2003, it was some download you had to get for other mapping software to reognize a COM port.

mine came with a seperate driver cd you had to install. Also you had to make sure you selected the option to use it with other mapping apps. If you choose that it installed the usb to serial driver
