  • GPS software & route segment speeds

Does anyone know if its possible using Destinator, IGuidance or whatever flavor of mapping software to poll the speed that it expects you to drive on each segment (ie - Interstate: 65 mph, US highway: 55 mph, local road: 30 mph). Is it also possible to change the speed that it uses to calculate your trip? for instance, if it takes you on a road that it expects you to drive 65, but there is long term construction, can you change that speed to 45 and let it potentially calculate a different route.

I'm assuming this would have to be done in some kind of SDK. Has anyone seen this?

yeah, but i think you can just change the speed of different kinds of roads, not each segment. most highways have 65mph speed limits and people drive 70 or 75, but what about the interstates that are 55mph. thats what i want to be able to edit and incoroperate this new speed into the route calculation
