How about using a program like Alcohol to create virtual CD/DVD drives? Alcohol will also allow you to create images of discs, that you can then mount on those virtual drives. I plan to do that in my own system (creating approx 5 virtual CD-drives) so I can have multiple GPS apps installed, and just mount the images I need at any given time. Reading them is a lot faster too, coming directly off the HD. You just need enough drive space to hold as many images as you will need.
I'm pretty certain it's been discussed.....
You can install one map set (i.e. all of North America), make a copy of the map folder, then install a different map set (i.e. Hawaii or possibly Europe?), and be ready to go. You could then swap mapsets in and out at will.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
How about the Wiki?
Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
what i did was install iguidance on my 3.2 p4, loaded up all the maps, copied the folder to my car pc. it went so much faster that way. it takes forever for california maps, even on the 1.8 in my car.

Photobucket is being updated, if a picture i posted no longer works, please PM me.
I am trying to install iGuidance, and everything works fine until the maploader. It gets to step three and then fails on like linkinfo.raz. EVERY time. I tried looking this up and copying the files over to my HD and running it from there, but my system gets errors and freezes every time I get to this file. Does anyone have a solution? Or could someone send me an email with that one correct file? Thanks in advance!
