is there any way i can test my car by using the GPS?
    i was thinking about:
    0 - 100 km/t (0 - 60 mile)
    brake time/meters
    horsepower tester

    is all this posible?

There is a 1Hz update speed, on the GPS unit itself unless you go expensive and get a 5Hz one, but no navigation programs will update using 5Hz. Even then though you cannot be very accurate.

So you could get a rough idea of your speed tests, but it could be off by as much as +-1 second.

what about the "real" testers you can buy?
      are they not very accurate?

i know you can buy a tester only for hp and 0 - 100
      they dont run om GPS?

Not as far as I know. They probably use accelerometers. Instant value depending on the acceleration, which can be extropolated to speed as long as it knows the time. And computers, always know the time!

LOL, I don't know why you've repeated your question the second time.
2k1 seems to have answered your question.

Anyway, look here. I've searched for the keyword VBOX for you.

why can some software not be made to capture 60 seconds of speed data, and then process it, using something like excel you could interpolate the actual time the car hit 60 or 100 or whatever even if it fell at a point in between updates from the receiver...

0-100mph is a much better measure of a cars ability too

if you can read ODB-2 data, as with a USB ODB port reader, you can calculate the data.

BTW, My 0-100mph is just under 13 seconds

                    km/hr

Mine takes 13.4 to hit 100mph and only weighs 1280kg and is nice and sleek, traction off the line is a big issue though

I am over two tons, but with AWD, getting all of that turbocharged V8 power to the ground isn't an issue When I saw 200sx, I was surprised- then I realized you arent in the US. We only got the 240sx, and our 200sx is a two doored version of the Sentra.

This is IMHO one of the best methods for the non race car drivers :-)

Commercial software such as Digimoto & PCMSCAN will do the calculations automatically using the OBD II data, so you do not have to keep track of the time.
