  • Bu-something or other Usb gps mouse

I have a GPS mouse that i bought from the mp3car store some time ago, and i've always had this problem of it being detected.

it seems like every 1 of 5 boots it will be detected properly, but the rest of the time shows as an unidentified device, and i cannot even force the drivers to work with it(some BS windows message)

is there a fix for this? or should i just get another GPS mouse?

I'm assuming you mean GPS reciever and not GPS mouse. But heres a thread that contains some info and a link to the newest driver for the BU-353 GPS Reciever, hope this helps.

If its the BU 353, thats a pretty good receiver. (mine works flawlessly since I got it)

Possibly the way its connected ? (is it on a hub? mine is directly into one of the on board usb's) Or as stated above, maybe the driver?

Are you connecting it to a hub? If so, is the USB powered or not?

I have the same GPS receiver and it's flawless.

I have the BU-353, and it never picks up satellites!! And when it finds 2 or 3, it's constantly losing them!
          Can't this work thru glass>

actually i found the problem yesterday,

i was moving the gps unit around, and decided to unplug it and have a look at the cable.

the cable has a very small slice in it, looks like it cuts threw one of the wires, i've not yet had a chance to repair it, i was actually thinking of replacing the entire cord since i have to use an extension cable with it anyhow.

It goes through glass just fine. I have it sitting on my dash.

Some guys have put theirs under the windshield cowl or even inside the dash and various other completely hidden places. As long as there is no metal blocking it, it should work fine.
