  • iGuidance 2011. Experiences?

So I preordered it, got the email of where to download it about a week ago (I think it was black friday), downloaded it and used it.

It works for me. I can't really say much as of now because I haven't experienced any other gps software and havn't used this program to go anywhere yet.

iGuidance 2011. What's your experiences so far?

It works. Nothing much more to say I guess at this point. Very little has changed since the previous version. I'm grateful for the fresh map data.

P.S. For new users, there's one thing to keep in mind. The auto-detect feature will most likely not detect your GPS receiver, but you may easily enter the baud rate and com port manually via the menu.

Yeah, auto-detect didn't work for me either until I ran the program as an admin.

Did you embed iNav in a front end? I'm trying to using apploader but all is failing. Atleast the iNav program works though.

Hey, that's a good catch on the auto-detect working when run as admin! Thanks! I thought the auto-detect feature was broken.

No, I run iG as is, w/out a front end. But many people do run iG inside various front ends.

Yep, works fine for me on windows 7 64-bit. I had the "trial" version for a few months and have been waiting for this new version for the updated maps, wasnt going to dish out $100 for 2 year old maps. I prefer the UI over any other GPS software.

I just downloaded it yesterday, and when I am trying to install it, I get the following error below. Note the amount of disk space available on the left....

I got the answer to my problem. I extracted the EXE installer which created three files. I then ran the install exe file in the "Disk1" folder.

If you are using Centrafuse, you need the plugin by Ogold007 : http://forums.fluxmedia.net/plug-dow...iguidance.html

I was able to get mine embedded into Centrafuse. I had to change the <FILENAME>line in the

                C:\Program Files\Flux Media\Centrafuse\Plugins\iGuidance\config

file to point to the new "iguidanceNPC.exe" executable, and it works fine now.

I got myself a copy. I embedded it to CF 3.1 using the plugin from ogold007 as suggested by LinuxRacr above. Overall, this new version has not changed a lot. Appart from the new updated maps, I like the street anouncements, near to realistic highway ramps where available; and more surprising to me, the realistic roof layouts of the buldings in the big cities. My previous version of IG is version 4, so for me, a lot has actually changed since. I prefer the previous female voice over this version's.

                  Thanks,
