  • Open Source Car entertainment system

    Hi,

Our company is converting "regular" cars to electric one.
    http://www.smart-electro.net/

What we need is Car entertainment system, with some custom screens for air-con, motor and battery diagnostics. The communication is made via CAN bus.

Most "regular" of the shell double DIN entertainment system have appropriate hardware, but all I contacted replayed to me that minimum quantity for custom modifications of software is cca 500pcs, which is for the moment not acceptable for us, and none of them provide BSP so we could write our own software.

Has anyone any recommendations for it?

    Regards,
    Simon

      Hello,

Phillip, your friend Alex has a great unit, unfortunately it is based on PC and therefore much to expensive four our needs.

So if anyone else has an idea where to get a car entertainment (infortainment) system based on ARM with linux or winCE based OS which can be modified please let me know. (same as many off-the-shelf units, just with "open" software)
