        gah, no sense of humor.

Quick method for regulating 12+ to 12v steady. There's a voltage drop off of around 1v or so. Using a 7505 or 7509, you can get regulated 5v or 9v too respectively.

Note: Less then 1 amp load. You cannot get regulated 3amps by just using 3 7512s or the like, so don't try.

            Auto Power-Up laptop

Sends a momentary pulse to push the power button when the computer senses the charging go from cold to hot AND it's not already awake.

            Enjoy!

                  relay circiuts.

These circiuts you may find usefull to "trick" a motherboard into powering up just after it has recieved batt power thru an ignition relay and a "on pulse" is needed to fire up the atx motherboard connection. There are plenty of other uses for them if you can think of them. Such as dethump power dissconection of amps during head unit turn on, etc.

just found this site which lists a ton of connectors and all their relevant pinouts.

                    http://www.networktechinc.com/technote.html

has common pc, mac, sun, sgi, paralell, serial, usb, 1394, video, and other connectors i've never even seen before.

DIY aux input to some stock radio units.

I found this whilst researching whether the 13 pin connector on the back of the stock radio in my 2000 Subaru Impreza Sport could be used as an aux input.

                      Looks like it can:
                      http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/m...tml?1096256753

I'm going to be giving this a go as I want to keep the hud and not have to use an amp.

Edit. Tried this, blew my radio up and had to buy another one. Moral:
                      1. Measure pin voltages before, not after you blow things up.
                      2. Connecting +13V directly to ground is a bad idea.
                      2. The pin out of the 13 pin connector on Clarion radios is not the same across all the models with that socket. I've since found a second pin out that still doesn't match my radio.
Progress: 80% - Permanent install left.

Most pioneer headunits have a IP-bus for controlling a CD-changer. This can also be used for aux input.
This website has the pinouts for the IP-bus in general, and directions for how to easily hook up wires to the pins for aux-input.

This circuit waits for a set time and then activates a relay.

With the cap that is in the schematic you will get about a 6 sec delay till power on. You can change the cap in this circuit to 470uF for about a 20 sec delay.
