Nice find. Lets hope some people find out how to get it going.

It's probably PS/2, so if you wire it up to a PS/2 port, it'd work. However, without the pinouts, figuring it out could be quite a pain. You're best bet is to see if you can find it somewhere.

        :-)

it would be very helpful for people living in the stone age (no touchscreen) . i have a lilliput with RCA input only, trying my best not to spend any more $$$$$

best place to mount it would be on the steering wheel itself. what do ya think?

The easy way to do what you want is to buy one of those pre-configured mouses that you hold in your hand trigger finger style & this tiny trackball is mounted on top of it designed to be rolled with your thumb. I've seen them all over so you should be able to find it, disect it & mount the trackball wherever, then mount your mouse click buttons (close by or remotely). this will give you what you want, all configured & wired to usb, drivers & all included, cost -$20-30 tops. I've used them, but they aren't super high quality & if you want buttery smooth, these are not quite, but not bad at all either.

Yea I have used those finger type track balls a few times. They arn't bad but arn't great for how much they cost.

You might want to look at using a steering column stalk (like this one). They're pretty affordable and they can work with most carputers.

              Hope this helps!
