  • (DOWN!)OpenSIRIUS.com Launched! SIRIUS Starbase Info Published!

I'm excited to anounce another SIRIUS First!
    http://www.OpenSIRIUS.com launched tonight!

    Included on the site is
    - Serial Radio Protocal information for the Generation 2.5 Tuners
    - Pin Outs for the SIRIUS Starbase (both the tuner board and the 8 pin mini DIN connector)

This should be everything anyone would need to hook up a computer to a SIRIUS Starbase! (It's all I needed)

So when will we get Sirius integration? Has anyone done it yet, and with what radio?

Well, Ben has the stuff over at Hybrid Mobile, so I'd guess they would be first to come out with something.

But at this point, nobody has had the information to do anything until tonight.

Awesome! I can't wait to put this to use!

Frodo, how long do you think it would take to modify your app to support this?

Well I'd love to help, but the wife would kill me, I've already bought $800 worth of SIRIUS Radios since Jan 1.

I think you've done enough already.

OK cool. I wish I knew how to make a serial cable out of this, and I wish someone would start making the software!!!!

Right now only the Starbase. And here's an interesting fact for you, the Alpine tuner half of the Alpine SIRIUS Connect won't work with the interface half of the Starbase. So they are not compatable. But I'm sure it won't be long before someone publishes the specs for the Alpine Tuner Box.

Woops, went back an edited too late. My fault, didn't understand that the starbase had a receiver only unit. I've been out of the sirius B-S loop for too long! I'm looking forward to this!!

And damn, these starbases are expensive. Any idea where to get them cheaper? I wish Sirius had them on their site so I could use my promo...

The best place to pick up a starbase is CircuitCity.com they had them for like $136.
