  • help please, problems with a PIC circuit

ive got a digital encoder for some funky controls in the front, and im rigging it up to the controller board on a keyboard for ease of use etc, but this thing aint keen on running thru a pic, when i use a test board this works fine (with push switches and LEDs) but as soon as it goes on the main board it wont output anything.... (btw the test board isnt my design, a velleman k8048)

so anyways, heres my shchematic, the little block at the top is the encoder (a little twizzly knob incase your wondering hehe)

The MCLR need a 10K pull up resistor to the +5V.

If you check the velleman 8048 you find that theres a pull up resistor on the MCLR already, reason why it work on the test board and not off it.

Also a bypass cap between VDD and VSS is a good idea. 100nF should be fine.
