I dont know how to solder, and the power switch for my laptop is directly on my motherboard, so I dont want to screw it up. Is there a remote that can start my computer?

Without doing any soldering, I doubt you could make that power button get triggered from anything but your finger. If you are able to solder, or learn to solder, then it should be doable...

if you don't know how to solder and you are looking to install a PC in your car, you have issues.

it's not like soldering is a black science or anything.

grow some ballz and learn how to solder. It will make your life MUCH easier when trying to do this stuff.

Don't be afraid to try it. Just go slow at first, you'll get the hang of it. It's really not that hard. Just give it a try.

Buy some cheap broken electronics and practice soldering on those. The gear you need is cheap enough, probably under $20 to get started with soldering. I bet there are a ton of how-to's on soldering on the internet. I suggest trying to learn, could be fun....

If you're afraid of bricking your laptop, you could always just get a docking station and solder onto that power switch.

                  Both of you are spot-on!
I was bribing someone to do my soldering for me because I suck at it. That person couldn't come over, so I started trying it on my own. I'm still no expert, but I'm better at it thatn I once was, and with some patience, I can achieve what I need.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
                  How about the Wiki?

Didn't read any posts, just replying quickly... I plan on using my remote start\car alarm\door unlocking keychain thingy's trunk button since it's not being used. The unit sends a "shock" that lasts about 1 second to the "trunk latch" but instead, sends the shock to the power switch for the computer, and turns it on.

I like reading magazines... with lots of pictures... of naked women.

LOL Okay, so I don't like reading but I can read fine. I just don't like to read if it gives me nothing, so I'm a selfish, non-reading biatch.
