  • tapping the cig wires

is it a good idea to tap onto the constant and ground of the cig? i installed a aux adapter and the closest known constant/ground were the cig. then i tapped it again for the harman kardon interface, the HK has a fuse the aux doesn't. i have a ford 500 2007 and seems hard to find the wiring diagram. thanks in advance!

It all depends on what you want to power from the cigarette lighter circuit. Most have a 10A fuse, and thinner wires, so you're somewhat limited due to power draw.

soooo, wiring my car pc into the cig plugs would be a bad idea? would it maybe cause the mobo to get fried?

Actually, it's more likely that the PC won't get enough power to operate.
