  • mini keyboard

I found this keyboard combo on the web - It is designed for the Playstation 2 , but I believe any keyboard that is USB will work on the PS2. If that is true, this mini will work on a computer. There are two cords coming out of the unit (one for the PS2 controller section and one for the USB connection for the keyboard.) Does anyone know for sure if a USB computer keyboard and a Playstation 2 keyboard are interchangable ?

If they are, I will volunteer to buy one of these and do some research (surgery) to see what's up.

    Thanks for the info -

    Brian

I'm not an expert but I know any USB keyboard is supposed to work on a PS2 so I am pretty sure that this will work on a PC (if it has the standard USB connector)

Also worse case, you should be able to get a USB-> PS/2 adapter (the connector type not playstation 2) to use it with the standard keyboard connector.

Edit: Forgot to tell you... NICE FIND!

I'm getting something like this from EB either this afternoon or tommorrow since I already use my PS2 controller for my PC (as a mouse) this would streamline the whole process 1 wire, 2 devices its $35

          Nice find

A bit smaller than the Logitech keyboard I found for the PS2!

Not sure how good it would be for actually using, however, it seems VERY small!!

on the site under question it mentions it will not work as a keyboard, I think it's because of no driver, someone please definately try it out.

yeah but the network adaptor i have for the PS2 says nothing about working on PC's but you can plug it in on a pc *no driver required for win ME+* and works just fine

THis keyboad is only numbers and letters. How about function buttons and control, shift, delete backspace. THese are needed, at least I dont like being with out them...

I still think you got a nice find though... very interesting.

                    Nighthunter,
This is a quote from the website Finnman925 posted...
"The new PS2 Keyboard Pad Mini is rather "special" - it looks like a normal Dual Shock Pad but the entire lower half under the Dual Shock thumbsticks holds a 6-row QWERTY style keyboard complete with a row of function keys, another row of number keys, three rows for the letters and a bottom row containing the ALT, CTRL, FN buttons, space bar, and even arrow keys."

                    And here's the keyboard...

Maybe you responding to the picture Hcomplyr posted but the one Finnman925 posted looks to be a standard 82-key keyboard.

maybe we should have a hardware review section for stuff like this, just so everyone knows which products get the job done
