  • Windows 7 Gestures with Lilliput Touchscreen?

Has anyone gotten the native gesture support to work with the lilliput touchscreen?

I am very interested in getting this to work, i would actually go out and buy another touchkit that was surely supported but since i have an antiglare/sunlight readable lilliput i cant just replace the touchscreen. I can however replace the controller with another 4 wire type (i think)

Has anyone gone down this road before, i am looking for a little advice

    Thanks in advance

Resistive screens are much harder to gesture on, so your letters end up taking up the whole screen. Not sure how that effects win7 gestures.

I remember looking into it. When I first installed Win7, my lilliput touchscreen was recognized as a "Pen & Touch" (or something like that) device. But I could never get it calibrated. I would touch one place and the mouse would be somewhere else. Plus I think the x and y axes were mixed up or something. When I installed the lilliput drivers (TouchKit), it wasn't a Pen & Touch device anymore. Briefly tried searching around and found nothing. I'm also interested if there is a solution. It would be great if it did work.

I found a few links you guys might want to check out. I plan on trying some of the suggested things.

Even though this is for a different touchscreen it references the drivers below and a calibration utility called CalTouch (i couldn't find any drivers by searching "Caltouch")
            http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=62029

            HIDUSBTouchDigitizer driver at the bottom
            http://www.tvielectronics.com/Touch_...Downloads.html

Apparently you need some additional software to calibrate ("CalTouch") if anyone can find this i think this may be the key

            Also this website was helpful

            http://spekxvision.wordpress.com/200...ith-windows-7/

I think we can find a Windows 7 or Vista Digitizer or tablet driver and then use the caltouch to calibrate and we should be good to go

So here is a direct link to drivers listed in the second link above.
              http://shop-on-line.tvielectronics.c...hDigitizer.zip

I tested these last night by

              uninstalling the current touchkit
rebooting and verifying that windows has not installed the touchscreen drivers
then i installed these drivers and i now have the control panel icon "Tablet PC" and i can use "flicks"

I should mention that i did do this after an upgrade install but it shouldn't make a difference becuase i still had the touchkit application and drivers installed

              Good luck gentlemen

Great find! I was looking how to activate the Windows 7 Gestures. From your eeepcuser link, there is now a download available for CalTouch. Are you using that too with the HIDUSBTouchDigitizer?

                CalTouch

ugh, my luck i guess. i uninstalled, installed these drivers, all went smooth. even calibrated fine, and seems to work fine but the entire upper right quarter of the screen is whack. the cursor is all over the place when i touch that area. the flick guestures did not work at all either.

                        back on lilliput drivers..

It seems that the HIDUSBTouchDigitizer drivers are the caltouch drivers since that was what the icon that get's installed says. I will have to check the driver version to see what is newer. I tried to dowload off the the first link but RapidShare sucks!!!. I will post the driver version after lunch here

Did you try the rapidshare link ?

                            antimatter,

When running the setup.exe from the download link it appears to be for XP/Vista only. The download page at http://www.tvielectronics.com/Touch_...Downloads.html does have a Windows 7 package available but this appears to be the same that is available from the eGalax website, which appears to be an updated version of what's available from www.touchkit.com. Can you please confirm which one you were able to get working with your Lilliput and Windows 7 Touch?

                            Thanks,
                            Joe

For what it's worth, I installed the "Windows XP/Vista (Tablet Edition)" - http://shop-on-line.tvielectronics.c...hDigitizer.zip

I'm running Windows 7 and have a Lilliput EBY701 and the flicks work. I didn't know there was a beta Windows 7 package, but I don't think I'm going to try it. I'm just guessing that it will not make the screen a pen and touch device.
