  • A new camera setup

I have been working on some truck cams for a client and have found these little metal cameras, they are about 3/4" square maybe 1" high. They to mount down and have an amazing video quality they have the 1,2 and 3 meter lines, the cable lengths are excellent for power and video. I am using as side and rear cams with this 3 screen monitor/mirror. the 10" monitor/mirror is top quality and has 4 video inputs 1 is switched to be for reverse cam. if you need links just ask SNO

yes the front where the lens is, bottom looked iffy to me as the 4 small screws show so I wiped the bottom with silicone just to be safe they have been on the outside of a transport for the past 3 weeks travelling across canada (mostly northern canada) driver says they are perfect, not affected by extreeme cold and he says great night vision

lol well i can't say that waterproof, the wires come out of the center of the bolt so that would leak for sure without silicone. now maybe if the camera bolted to the trailer light housing might be enough to seal the wire opening, also the harness is small and the junctions might need sealing as well . buy one and see. only 25 bucks + shipping

I'd love to get the link for both the camera, and the screen unit too.

Those look pretty awesome, would be great for mounting on the back of my SUV, as I can't see my trailer when I'm towing (trailer is narrower than the car, so its invisible!).

Plus having those instead / as well as wing mirrors would be wicked, and side mounted camera units for pulling out of side streets like the new BMW's have!

                The mind boggles

                        Very cool cameras and monitors!

I'm curious about CCD cameras...any recommendations?

---------- Post added at 01:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:55 AM ----------

Found this one for $49.00 (previously $199); CCD, great reviews. I would use it behind the front grille, but I'd like the ones posted in the OP better for the side/rears. But I can't find the specs for them.

Bought one of these monitors, the user manual does not describe anything regarding "programming" the monitor.

It seems that it defaults to AV4 / AV2 when the green wire (backup cam) is activated... Regardless what i set it to with the "Mode" button on the remote or on the front glass. Pretty stupid.

I want it to display three video inputs, or even a single one, but two isn't what i wanted....
