How can you program this thing to run everything?
The site tells you that it can raise the volume and also be programmed to do everything else.

How do you switch between functions, isn't it just ONE KNOB and nothing else?

It just applies the commands to the selected window...Not bad if you plan on having only one app open at a time.

I've got to get a hold of one, because I still don't get it.

How does a scroll knob and a push-down click function know what you want to select?
Do keep turning the knob until it lands on the button you want and then click?
It states that you can program it with any keyboard function(unlimited). So how does it know what keyboard function I want to use if it only has one knob?

It looks nice but I'm still lost on this one...................

                  It's in the software...

You select the app. (.exe) to apply the commands to, then select the action (turn left, right, click, push and left, or push and right) and apply the key command to each action...

You have to order it from Griffintechnology
Anyway I bought it and I'm a bit disappointed with the long-click and click-rotate functions. Basically if you push and rotate, it'll do the 'click' function or 'long-click' (If you took too long to rotate) no matter what.

So say in winamp, if you set rotate to volume, click to mute, press-rotate to scroll through playlist, and long-click to play track.. then anytime you try to scroll through the playlist, you will *always* either mute or change tracks when you let go.

I emailed them asking if there was a way around this that I didn't understand and received no response.

The controller itself seems quite neat and well built, but it doesn't seem like the click and long-click are usable in combination with press-rotate. You have to pick, either or.

                        agreed

I have the same problem...hopefully they will update software for this, as well as adding double click

I'm thinking about getting one of these.... which means you might see media engine support for it one day.

yes, but to support it without installing the griffin software and to be able to control all functions of the program exclusively with the powermate.
