  • finally the keyboard ive been waiting for

Ive been waiting for this keyboard to be instock at digitallww for a few months now. So about a month ago I contacted the manufacturer Flexis in Korea to see if it all it would be possible to just buy it from them. They replied and said CompUSA had just ordered a few hundred of these keyboards and i should check there in the middle of Oct. well low and behold the wait is finally over.

funny thing is, compUSA says its made by a company called Encross? looks like the exact same keyboard to me though. Even the same pictures that are on digitallww site. Ill be heading down to the store tomorrow after work and check it out, hopefully they have the grey and black ones too, the orange is too bright for me and my interior

nothing much different from this keyboard and the others, but.....
for me, the black and grey version matches my cars interior so thats a plus for me. I dont want a keyboard look all out of place in my car so color IS an issue for me. And, all the other flexible keyboards in my opinion look cheap and or are too big or long. For me this one is perfect, thats why ive been waiting for it for months. And you cant beat the price, 39bucks

I've seen them at local compusa all the time for a long time. I was told that they suck for carPC since you need something solid to type on.

I think you have it mixed up with another "roll up" keyboard...

              this one maybe?

                Hey... wazzzup...

hey mang, post a followup on how functional the keyboard is.
I was looking at one at the local swap-meet (AUS), and nearly picked up sumthing very similar(as an impulse buy). I ended up not getting it coz i thought that it would be a pain rolling it along the dash every time I want to use it.

Just got a reply from Flexis about the manufacturer name being Encross and not flexis on the compusa site, and they said that Encross is one of there partners in the states so these are the same keyboards. I will be at Compusa at lunchtime today and i hope they got the grey and black ones.

As far as typeing on a flat surface, i dont think its going to be a big issue in the car. For one, if your doing something that you absolutely have to type to get it done, your car should be stopped and parked somewhere. I plan on putting my keyboard on my visor if it fits nicely, or maybe inside my armrest.

well i finnaly actually took myself over to CompUSA, been really busy lately and when i tried to go the first time they were closed. But anyway, i got the keyboad its pretty cool. Its as small as you think it is. First thing i did when i got back to my car was take it out the package and see if it would fit in my sunvisor and it fits perfectly. Think im going to get some velcro tape to hold it in place Sorry dont have any pics SOBIL but when i get a camera ill post some, have to borrow one from a friend. But that wont be until i get my replacement LCD screen so i can take pics of the whole project. But it should fit in anyones visor. I have a VW Passat and the visor is about standard visor size.

This Grandtech is the first one I bought for my project. They say you can drive a forklift over it...and you might as well, because it sure ain't any good for typeing. Plus, you still need a mouse, something flatish to put it on, not to mention the cord all over in the way.

Ended up with the wireless Ifree unit with the trackball. Guess I'll shove it under the seat when not in use.

yeah, i saw this keyboard at CompUSA when i was there. Its crap, and way too long. You basicly have to have a desk to use this thing, or really wide legs

Well I am testing the keyboard out right now on my laptop...I like it. Beter than I expected. Works ok on my lap but still would prefer a hard surface. Keeps sliding around...But it's going in the sun visor so no biggie. will post pics when all is said and done.

BTW: It's distributed by US Logic but here is the link to the keyboard anyway...
