  • Media Remote - Not Working - Can You Help ?

I am having a problem with mediaremote ( http://www.mediaremote.com/ ) working. The remote has fresh batteries. The software is installed and working correctly and it even worked at one piont but now it does not. The drivers have been re-installed and the receiver can be seen OK.

Is anybody using this remote? Anybody have the same problem with it or a similar remote from X10?

Does any one know how to test these ( tried with Media Engine No joy ) - Does any one know the exact device driver for Girder ?

The remote is model number UR85A and the receiver is USB model number CM19A.

Very nice looking device. I'm assuming you have not yet interfaced to Girder?? Is this a clone of some other X10 remote?

    Thanks

I am having trouble with the same remote.I could only get it to work at a range of two inches or less. The problem is the usb ports on my motherboard (Via Eden 5000) are under powered. I tried a powered usb hub which increased my range up to two feet. That still isnt good enough for me. I just bought a serial receiver, model number MR26A, off e-bay. I am hoping that will work better, as I really want to use this remote.

Go here to get the plugin for girder http://www.girder.nl/plugins.php
It is at the bottom of the page labeled X10/ATI remote plugin.

I believe the Girder Lola plugin will work with this. I have a Lola which comes with the CM19A. Also, I get like 20' range and got maybe 5' more after replacing the tiny antenna with about a 1 meter wire (not exactly ideal for the car). I also found it can transmit and recieve X10. The MR26A doesn't work with the remote though because it doesn't send a standard X10 signal. I think it's using the same frequency, but it gets nothing at all.

Did you try the test software that I sent you a link to (before you implemented Terran + SO v2.1)?
