  • Touch screen function: I want two Xenarc screens showing media engine and Deltadash

Will the USB touch screen work with two screens at the same time? I would like to have Media engine on one and delta dash on the other. It is for a Subaru BTW.

Delta Dash shown in this thread http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=18764

need more info on your setup. If your using an all nvidia dual mon solution, there are options to set which monitor each program will open on.

The video card is the cheapest part of the problem... I figured any dual-head will do. I don't however know if the touch screens will work on both.

also any dual head probably wont do, well it probably will, but they are not all equal. ATI's drivers suck *** for dual head, i would go with nvidia.

total assumption here but I would assume plugging in 2 usb touchscreens would be like having 2 mice in your system: as long as you don't use both at the same time you should be fine, otherwise they will fight each other for the cursor position. If you have a laptop with a touchpad and a mouse you can see what I'm envisioning, this is what I'm basing my assumption on.

The problem i see here is what will the PC think of your touchscreen dimension? Obvious answer is that both are configure onto the same axis. That mean if you had your desktop screen longer or wider, you would not be able to operate the longer part of the screen. Both touchscreen will only able to operate the left side of the screen. Hope I explain this in a matter that can be understood.

This isnt a problem, if you look at the latest version of the touchscreen drivers for lillyput and GAIN screens, there are mapping options for using more than one monitor. So, the drivers are made with this in mind. Very similar to using two wacom tablets on one PC.

Cool, I was wondering about that. I figured you'd have to have a secondary program or do some reg hack to tell the PC that the second mouse/touchscreen started its x access at (e.g.) 801 instead of 0.

I think the best solution would be to build a second system with some spare parts you can find. Put in only the money it would cost to buy a new PIMP video card and run the system as light a possible(fast booting). This is what Iím planning to do in a few days with my tax rebate check. This way the system boots faster and is dedicated to only digital dash. You don't have to worry about the configuration and all of that mouse crap. If you want you will not need a keyboard and a mouse at all. If you are smart forget the touch screen all together and there is where you will save some big money for the system! This is what I'm going to do...

Thanks for the update. I haven't download any drivers for my carputer for a long time and didn't know that they update it to include this function.

I am also a Subaru-driver (WRX STi Euro-version), how well does the Deltadash software work with touchscreen?
