  • Use your HEAD as your mouse? Check this out.

I was tooling around looking for cirque touchpads and kinesis is one of the online retailers... but then I found this. It's call Smart-Nav. Apparently it somehow figures out where you want the mouse to go according to your head position and also has a little ring that you wear to control other functions. Looks pretty cool. I dunno what this could do for a car system, or if it would even work because of the positioning of the monitor and such but it's neat either way!

Hahaha...did you notice that the receiver keys off of a reflective adhesive dot you wear on your forehead?

Look at the contens of the box set:

        "4) 40 reflective dots "

If you look closely at the picture toward the bottom of the screen, you can see a little shiny sticker on the guys forehead. Imagine pulling up next to a car in traffic and looking over to see a guy with a silver sticker on his forehead swinging his head around while staring intensely at his center console... Awesome!

Well, I think he meant that the Kinesis Corp. didn't impress him. Unless you designed the Smart-Nav, I wouldn't take it personally.

OTOH, with a nick like imprezive one, other people may expect you to impress.

seen that before, its a cool idea, nice concept. but as Im sure you know, still far from realistic for use.

now a glove that tracks its movement with G sensors would be kinda cool... both hands, sensors at the tips of all 5 fingers. type on a desk and it knows what key would be pushed(they have a visual recognition system like this) but for that matter you could type in mid air.

then point at the screen and control the curser with your finger...

eh one day itll be the only way to do it I bet.

haha, yeah my bad I just had a bad day. anyways, my handle is more to do with the car that I drive (an impreza wrx) than anything else, just a play on words.

I didn't even notice the reflective patch, that's funny.

It seems like the best application for this thing is for handicapped people, and not people who just don't want to take their hands off the keyboard like the web page seems to imply.
