  • what do we all use for our basic pointing device?

Im just wondering what all of you guys out there use as your basic pointing device (mouse or similar) in the car. Last incarPC I biult I had a small thumb wheel, which doesnt have a flat base (no flat surface/desk used)
and Now im biulding a new system (sold the last car with the incarPC should have seen the look on that duds FACE!) and I cant find another unit like I used in the last biuld.
What do you guys all use?
I go to the local shops here and all they have is flat surface types, albeit some of those have thumb/hand balls biult in, im looking for something perfect for this next biuld

    cheers.

Alps touchpad velcro'd to the center console.

BTW...I had a touchscreen monitor in my dash but I had problems with the calibration so I removed the touchscreen overlay, replaced with a 1.65 sheet of 1/8" glass and use the touchpad. Works perfectly and I have no more troubles seeing the display even in direct sunlight. (rag top) so I really do mean "direct" sunlight.

            sigh

Touchscreen and a touchpad. There is that little trackpoint from MECI but they have a stipulation you need to order 20$ or more for them to process the order. So i never got to it.

            I prefer the touchpad/standard mouse

              RF remote from mediaremote.org

Touchscreens gets all mungy with fingerprints, and mean that the screen must be on and visible to control. I'll often drive with the screen stowed away so rubber-necking lusers can't spot the glow at night.

              C!
