  • Cheapest USB to IDE adapter?

Hey guys, I've been searching around on the internet to see if I can buy a USB to IDE adapter cable without an additional molex power adapter unit but haven't been able to find just the cable by itself.

If I end up having to buy the power adapter as well, then I'll bite the bullet but what's the cheapest place to get one?

Ebay has some of these for like less than a dollar... which is sweet but then you look at the cost of shipping and it's consistently over $17. So yeah, not falling into that scam.

Anyone know of a reputable place online that has them for cheap? Thanks.

I saw one on newegg a couple days ago.

The cheaper one was around $20 and it came with an ac adapter as well...

Don't know if you are still looking but hereis a usb toide adaptor for $14.

      http://www.pcmicrostore.com/PartDeta...x?q=p:10501935

Shipping is reasonable, around $8 for 2 shipped to Virginia.

Compgeeks.com has the same adaptor for ~ $17.50.

        thanks pwborders!

Although I've decided to just go with a slimline cd/dvd rom and bought an external slimline enclosure for it that has a slimline to usb and 5v power to usb adapter built into it. Pretty slick.
