  • Looking for jog dial mouse or similar?

    Hello guys,

I was thinking about decapitating a mouse for the scroll wheel and then began thinking about a better inut device but wanted to know if anyone used them? I have a touchscreen so really just need a programmable device that would me to scroll, but also to click it to select an object. Ideally this device would look good as well as it would need to be mounted prominantly.

I looked all through this section but could fin no answers - any thoughts would be great.

Thanks for the helpful graphics, really unnecessary? I know of this device but was looking for something like a mouse wheel but as a contained unit.

        Check this one out

        http://www.btc.com.tw/english/2-7-21keyboard.htm

It's got joystick/mouse, wireless and pretty small. Comes with white or black.

Well, I was trying to do it as polite as possible. I just remember seeing a fair bit of these posts.

Here's something I would like to try / see done. A trackball. not the whole unit, just a little ball poking up in the dash. Or ... oooh ... on the shifter knob of manuals. :-D

How about this - dont assume that anyone with a low post count is out to be spoon fed and people like me who DO search but are new will not feel patronised .

No hard feelings my man - just letting you know that I dont like seeing in my posts becasue this is what I do, I would sooner see a good suggestion so I appreciate you taking the time to make one, but wanted to feedback that it was unnecessary to tell me how to use the site - friends again

Cheers for that link baboojoon - more than I need but certainly worth a look

                  Then next time try this:

                  Hello guys,

I've already searched these forums, and the solutions that I found (like the Griffin Powermate) do not really suit my needs.

I was thinking about decapitating a mouse for the scroll wheel and then began thinking about a better inut device but wanted to know if anyone used them? I like your idea about butchering a mouse for a clickable scroll wheel. Do that and post pics after its molded into the car.

I appreciate your suggestion there mate, thanks for taking the time but I really feel that the solution is for the Regulars to ease off on the new guys who do search, then we can gang up on those who dont - together

Thanks to all for the advice so far, I have ordered a Powermate to try it ut but recon I wil lcontinue the search for a specific mouse wheel like device.

                    Have a great weekend !

Don't know if this will help you, but go onto google and do a search for mame cabinets. Basically this are arcade cabinets that run on a pc. They have all kinds of hacks for joysticks, keyboards, trackballs ect.. They even have them set up for USB plug and play.
Not sure if it will do what you want, but thought I'd give my 2 cents.

                        Try this link
