  • Infared Codes all the same

I have girder, a USB UIRT, and an RCA ir keyboard. When trying to capture the ir code from the KB i get the same code for each key. it almost seems as if it spits out 2 codes the first is different and the second the same and girder is missing the first code. is there anyway to fix this issue? i have the same problem with my Pioneer remote. some of the keys all perform the same function.
If its not broken, take it apart anyway to see how it works!

no there are different codes for IR and you would need different ir recievers for them

Well, yea, i know there are different codes per button on a remote but here is the issue. on my Pioneer remote it has about 20 buttons. i can "learn" the directional buttons with no problem but when i try to program the 1-9 buttons at the bottom they all seem to give me the same code in girder. thats why i am confused, some are different and some are the same.

It could have multiple signals for each press. Like sending a signal notifying the unit of sending a signal, another burst for the info, and another burst for saying done. So if you only get the last, then the code you get is "done" each time.

I've seen devices with this but usually not remotes.

that makes sense. is there anyway for me to capture the entire code and be able to use those keys?

what i meant was that some remotes for example the bush remote with the keyboard in the middle people on here where using, needed a 38hz receiver for the standard remote and a second receiver on a different frequency for the keyboard. your receiver may not have a wide enough receiver band for all the remote codes

would i still need a second reciever if i still recieve a code at all? I do get a code on every button i press but it seems to always be the same code. is there a way to filter out the common parts of the code string and only get the data part of the <Start>-<Data>-<stop> code. <- refering to what 2k1Toaster Said
