  • Epia 800 serial voltage

I have an Epia 800 and as I understand the voltage on the serial port is lower than a normal serial port. My IR reciever (packard bell) does not work well with this low voltage. Can you guys help me out?

Normal serial is in the range of 12v where TTL is 3.3 or 5v depending on application. I thought that the epia had a standard serial port on it. Does the IR receiver you're using need a separate 12v input?
